Qatar University (QU) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar P
layers Association (QPA) to establish collaboration in the field of sports activities.
The MoU was signed by Qatar Players Association Vice President Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari and QU Student Services and Activities Director Mr. Abdulla Al-Yafei in the presence of Mr. Ibrahim Al-Ghanim, Mr. Meshal Abdulla and Mr. Bilal Mohammed QPA’s Board Members together with the Manager of Sports and R
ecreation Activities at QU Student Activities Department Ms. Asmaa Al-Naemi and officials from QU and QPA.
In the terms of the MoU, QU will provide QPA Academy with access to its stadium and facilities for training. QPA through QPA Academy will sponsor and provide the technical and administrative support as well as the necessary equipment and sport clothing to QU football teams.
Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari said: “Our collaboration with QU aligns with our commitment to providing support to educational institutions through the provision of technical expertise to football teams. This MoU will contribute providing football players with the necessary training, which will contribute to strengthening their skills and capabilities. QPA through QPA Academy will sponsor QU football team during its participation in the University League, as well as QU amateur football team during its participation in the Qatar Amateur League that are organized by the Qatar Football Association.”
In his remarks, Mr. Abdulla Al-Yafei said: “At QU, we strongly advocate the benefits of sport and recreation, not only for the physical, but the positive impact on the individual’s social and cultural skills. Our collaboration with QPA will contribute to enhancing QU students’ performance in the field of sports and to establishing a strong football team at the University. It also highlights the Student Activities Department’s ongoing efforts to offer students a wide range of sports activities.”
