Qatar Players Association journey for incorporation in 2014 when the current President of Qatar Players Association proposed to a group of current and former players the idea of setting up an independent entity aiming players’ rights as part of the football progress in the State of Qatar. Subsequently, the incorporation process commenced through negotiation with the concerned authorities in the State of Qatar.
After negotiating for a year and eight months, Qatar Players Association was incorporated in 2015 as a private institution for public benefit to be the first entity representing football players in the State of Qatar. Qatar Players Association incorporation was based on main objectives to protect, improve and negotiate the conditions, rights and status of all professional players by collective bargaining agreements. Additionally, it serves to promotes players’ solidarity, ensures normal development of their career and subsequent job promotion, defending and guaranteeing labor, economic, educational and social rights, and enhancing sporting values between its members and the society.
Qatar Players Association project begun as a dream and became reality and it will strive to achieve its objects in accordance with the principals of equal representation for its members, best international practices and its Articles of Association.
