The Qatar Players Association held a meeting with Qatar Football Association’s authorized intermediaries in the presence of Mr. Salman A. Al-Ansari, the President of the Qatar Players Association. During the meeting, the Qatar Players Association confirmed its commitment to support and facilitate the intermediaries’ work so long as it is beneficial to the players.
The meeting focused on several matters to ensure a smooth relationship between the Qatar Players Association and the intermediaries, one of which included the Qatar Players Association confirmation of its role to protect the players and its wish to not interfere in players’ transfers, which falls within the intermediaries’ mandate provided that it does not require the Qatar Players Association involvement. Furthermore, the parties agreed upon certain procedures to ensure that the relation is transparent in achieving and serving the players’ rights. In addition, it has been agreed that the Qatar Players Association will propose a unified template to be used between the players and the intermediaries to achieve a balance between the players’ rights and the intermediaries’ rights, similar to the unified players contract.
After the meeting, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari, Qatar Players Association Vice President said that the Qatar Players Association looks at its relation with the intermediaries as important because it focuses on achieving what is best for the players. He added that the Qatar Players Association, based on its understating of the intermediaries’ role, has proposed the setting up of a committee to oversee the intermediaries’ affairs. Mr. Al-Kuwari concluded his statement by thanking the intermediaries for their attendance and understanding.
