Qatar Players Association announced its agreement with Qatar Football Association and the relevant parties in relation to the terms of Lekhwiya Football Club Company acquisition of El Jaish Football Club Company to ensure fair treatment of the players. This agreement includes naming Qatar Players Association representative to the committee supervising the acquisition, in addition to the clubs’ representatives.
In addition, Qatar Players Association confirmed that the agreement includes reassurance that the current players’ rights will not be affected. Furthermore, Qatar Players Association will work with Qatar Football Association, Lekhwiya Football Club Company and El Jaish Football Club Company to ensure smooth and fair transition of the players.
The discussions between Qatar Players Association and Qatar Football Association together with the clubs has commenced to agree on the procedures to be followed during the acquisition. Such discussions focused on two principals the first is respect of contracts and the second transparency in relation to players’ transfers.
Qatar Players Association ended the statement by indicating that a meeting with El Jaish Football Club players will be held in the presence of their club’s management to go through the details of the acquisition process.
